Tag Thursday time folks! And I decided to have a pop at this tag on this fine Thursday afternoon as I’ve semi-recently seen the new Beauty and the Beast film and really loved it and it would be a shame to let this one pass by so… it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight and now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair… (I couldn’t resist)… let’s go:
- Thank the person who tagged you – many thanks to Thrice Read for featuring this tag on their wonderful blog!
- Mention the creator – Kirsty @ Kirsty and the Cat Read (her original post is here)
- Match a book to each of the songs/characters below
- Tag as many people as you like – I hereby tag anyone reading this who wants to give it a go!
“TALE AS OLD AS TIME” – A POPULAR THEME, TROPE OR SETTING YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED WITH READING
Hmm how about characters that bicker but obviously really love each other obviously? Or smol badass girl and tol guy who is stupidly and completely smitten with this smol ball of anger and badassery and just a little bit in awe of her general ‘take no prisoners’ vibe… I’m a huuuge sucker for that one (I also forum RPed that one for years so, yeah, no surprises this one lingers for me).
BELLE – A BOOK YOU BOUGHT FOR ITS BEAUTIFUL COVER THAT’S JUST AS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE TOO
As mentioned in my very recent Top 5 Wednesday post on my Favourite SFF covers, I adore the cover for The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers and I’d say that the story within its pages definitely matches up to the beautiful cover art. If you haven’t read it, go read it, please.
BEAST – A BOOK YOU DIDN’T EXPECT MUCH FROM BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED YOU
Embarrassingly, you know what book I immediately thought of? My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick – I make no secrets of the fact I’m not the biggest YA contemporary fan (where’s the fun and magic?!) so I was very pleasantly surprised by just how much fun I found this book, I mean, come on, I somehow gave it 4.5 stars after my momentary high of reading it.
