The Terror of Knowing

As you may have seen in yesterday’s post, I was tagged by Stephanie from Adventures of a Bibliophile to do the 3 Days 3 Quotes tag/challenge/meme/thing! The idea of this challenge is to post a book or reading related quote every day for three days, tagging three people at the end of each day’s post.

Of course because this is me, I’m going to unpack the quote a little bit each day, explaining why I chose it, and also perhaps musing a little on the concept of reading that it addresses (I might have also accidentally added a couple of supplementary or supporting quotes, whoops!). But, without further ado, today’s quote is:

Ok this one might be a slightly lighter offering today; since yesterday was a bit philosophical, it seemed about time for something more glib and amusing and wonderfully sweary.

Of course, of course, I know not everyone consumes stories in the same format – some people choose to read via audiobooks or ebooks and therefore would not own a groaning bookcase full of books you might be able to observe when accompanying them inside their home for a coffee (and nothing more, I’m sure). Some people consume stories via visual formats i.e. television or film, so I expect some DVDs or evidence of a Netflix subscription before I’m coming in for that beverage.

However, if someone admitted to me that they don’t read at all? Well, it’s a bit of a deal-breaker, to be honest.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something expressing a similar sentiment but a little bit less sweary then might I suggest:
