Guys, it’s Thursday again so you know the drill – it’s time for Tag Thursday. *cue moderate applause*
This week I bring you the excitingly named Harry Potter Tag and yep it does what it says on the tin – this tag is about all things Potter! I was tagged by my good friend Liz from Travel in Retrospect (check out her post here) and I’m not sure who created this originally but, if you know, please do let me know so I can credit them properly!
What house are you in?
I’m definitely a proud Ravenclaw through and through, guys. Although I nearly had an existential crisis when I signed up for Pottermore because it declared me a Gryffindor. I have since decided to reject its reality and substitute my own. Apparently I would be in Thunderbird at Ilvermorny, whatever that means.
What is your Patronus?
A husky – how cute!
What is your wand?
Elder wood with a unicorn hair core, 14 1/2 inches, and unyielding flexibility. Good??
What would your boggart be?
I hate slugs, so potentially a slug. Just one huge gross slug. I don’t even like having to walk around them on paths, it makes my skin crawl. By contrast, snails, fine – no, it doesn’t make sense.
What position would you play in quidditch?
I’m not athletic so I likely would not make the team, even if I wanted to. I’d like to say I’d be a supporter, like Hermione, but I don’t really like sports enough, and I doubt Quidditch would be an exception. Could I go to matches to support my house team but read a book in the stands instead?
Would you be pure-blood, half-blood, or muggle-born?
I’d end up being a muggle-born for sure.
What job would you want after graduating Hogwarts?
Probably teacher? Because I’m incapable of letting go and would surely cling on to Hogwarts life as long as was possible. I always wonder if I missed a trick by not even trying teaching IRL to see if I liked it, so I’m sure if I was at Hogwarts I’d give it a go. Otherwise I’d like to work for a newspaper, maybe the Daily Prophet?
Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?
I feel like this question basically just tests whether you actually read that section of the book and which of the trio you align yourself with more. So I’d pick the cloak, obviously.
Favourite Book and Least Favourite Book?
Favourite – used to be the fifth one but, after re-reading, it’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because Remus Lupin.
Least favourite – Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because I don’t really care for Snape’s “redemption arc” business and, man, that book dragged for me.
Favourite film?
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for sure – Alfonso Cuaron really helped move the film series into a darker tone, just as it needed it, and I actually loved the overly stylized nature of the film.
Least favourite film?
Hmmm… maybe the fifth one? I’m still bitter about it because I loved the book at that point and SO MUCH of it was cut out for the sake of the film – in my opinion, all the good bits were cut. Order of the Phoenix was such a let down for me.
Favourite character?
Hermione Granger, duh. Closely followed by Remus Lupin.
Least favourite/most hated character?
Ugh, Serverus Snape. He takes out his unresolved bitterness about being “friendzoned” on the alleged love of his life’s only child. Need I say more? Well, also, he vilifies one of his students so much that that student’s Boggart takes his form – the thing that Neville is most afraid of, out of all the shit he’s been through, is his teacher… wow, Snape, what a dick.
Favourite teacher at Hogwarts?
Lupin, because he’s a great character and a really good teacher among all the dreck. I also think David Thewlis played him perfectly in the films.
Least favourite teacher at Hogwarts?
Snape. For reasons, see above.
Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?
That I actually like the fifth book and don’t think it’s too long? Also that I like the complete tonal shift of the third film? And I actually quite enjoy the fourth film, a lot – mainly because of Victor Krum and Hermione who are THE CUTEST THING and I LIVE FOR the Yule Ball section and will never be over Hermione’s “Victor’s gone to get drinks, would you care to join us?” “No we would not care to join you and Victor” response from Ron. *smushes together the idiot children*
That’s it, folks, that’s the end of the tag – didn’t we all have a lovely time? If you would like to join in with the tag, please consider yourself tagged by me. Be sure to link me to your post below if you do participate as I’d love to read your answers!

I will definitely second that the 5th movie was the worst.

It was SO disappointing that I think I’ve only rewatched it once since it was first released.

I totally agree about the Order of the Phoenix movie, it was soooo baaad. If I could redo any movie, it would be that one 100%

I was so especially disappointed by it at the time because I LOVED the fifth book so it had ruined a story I loved.

I know, it’s one of my favourite books! But there was so much they changed and it just seemed so random
